California Priorities.

With the California wildfires still raging, there is a lot of finger-pointing going on from both inside and outside the state.

Last week, it was revealed that Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass–who was in Ghana, Africa (presumably at taxpayer expense) when the fires began–had cut the Los Angeles Fire Department’s budget by $17.6 million.

These cuts, according to LAFD Chief Kristin Crowley, impacted firefighters’ abilities to fight the deadly wildfires still burning in the area.

It was also revealed on Friday that the reservoir supplying water to the Pacific Palisades, where the fires have decimated much of the town, was empty.

Over the weekend, it was further revealed that Governor Gavin Newsom had cut more than $100 million from seven “wildfire and forest resilience” programs in the months prior to the devastating wildfires.

Meanwhile, California taxpayers–including those whose homes and businesses have been destroyed–are footing the bill for free healthcare to illegal migrants…to the tune of $2.6 billion annually.

If one were to want to have a debate about politicians’ priorities being straight, in the eyes of many taxpayers, California pols would lose.
