YGTBFKM TOONS: Another ‘Massive’ Migrant Caravan May Arrive At The Border By Election Day

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a ‘huge migrant caravan‘ on the march from Mexico to the United States.

However, as border crossings have diminished in recent months, a new ‘massive’ caravan of immigrants is amassing in Tapachula, Mexico–a town near the Guatemala border–to begin the trek to the United States.

Tapachula is a town where prior migrant caravans have departed from to begin their 1300-mile walk to the U.S. border at Eagle Pass, Texas. Tapachula is also the town where six immigrants were killed last week after Mexican soldiers fired on a group of 33 migrants traveling in a pick-up truck that had tried to evade a military patrol.

“The caravan of migrants has departed from Tapachula, Chiapas, with the goal of reaching the United States,” stated Auden B. Cabello on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday. “The group consists primarily of families from Central and South America.”

They are demanding quicker processing of transit permits from Mexican authorities, which would allow them to travel freely through the country. Frustration among the migrants has intensified due to delays and overcrowded conditions in Tapachula.

The caravan is currently being escorted by Mexico’s National Guard, state police, and an ambulance. Authorities are offering migrants the option to remain in Tapachula and receive assistance with their CBP One applications.

With the outcome of the November election far from certain and with Donald Trump and, now, Kammala Harris taking tough(er) stands on open immigration, immigrants may be hurrying to the border before a potential change in policy occurs with a new President in the White House.

If the caravan walks without stopping it would take around 20 days to reach the border. However, with stops, it’s safe to assume they’ll arrive at the border right around election stime, or shortly afterwards.
